The children at Atwell had lots of fun exploring cutting up limes, lemons & herbs such as rosemary, coriander and parsley.

As a group educators and children spoke about healthy fruits and vegetables that we like to eat and how it fuels our bodies for the day. The most common answer of the children’s favourite fruits was apples, watermelon and berries.

Once the lemons and limes were chopped up, the children used their sense to taste, see, touch and smell to explore what they were and tasted like.

The children spoke about the taste of the limes and lemons and how it was sour as they kicked, bit or squeezed the juices.

The children were confused about as to what the herbs were used for as they were asked if “they have seen their mums or dad’s cooking with it” the responded “no”.
