The children at Sonas Atwell have been busy practising and developing their fine motor skills through play.
Our Educators set up an experience to support this development by using string to wrap in and out of the washing basket to create a spider web. Items big and small were then placed on the bottom and with placed tongs next to the experience.
The children grabbed the tongs, squishing them in and out, putting them inside the washing basket to grab out the items at the bottom. This activity had children demonstrating persistence as they continued to attempt to retrieve the items even when faced with the difficulty of the string.
