Objective:  Child demonstrates awareness that spoken language is composed of smaller segments of sound.

This afternoon, we completed the pre-kindy experience of creating music.

Children were separated on two tables.

One table was using markers to ensure the cups were colourful.

The second table was starting to pour the materials into the containers.

Once the cups were decorated, we joined together on one table and took turns creating the rest of the instruments.

When they were finished, everyone shook and played instruments, slow and fast, and were able to identify whether they were made from the same materials or different depending on the sounds they made. (Pasta) (rice)
