This morning in the nest our lovely chef Amanda made some edible slime for the children of the nest to enjoy some sensory play. We placed the slime in small circles for the children to grab a hold of, play with and have a taste. The slime was super friendly for eating as it included jelly crystals, cornflour and some water.

This activity not only allowed the children to work on their sensory development skills but also their fine motor skills by using their small muscles in their fingers to play with the slime, pinch at it to taste and transfer it from one hand to another.

The children enjoyed having the opportunity to explore the sensory edible slime with their fingers and their mouths. They enjoyed participating in a group environment with a few of the bigger children and watching as they started to play with the slime, imitating what they do.
