Today we explored three different textures, whilst using the farm animals.
We identified the animals and the sound they made. Some of the children were saying “chicken” while others started to say “moo”.
I used the animals to act out scenarios of them eating the green rice, which represented grass. The children enjoyed exploring the texture of the mud, cornflour and water.
They decided to create their own markings on the table. One of them got right into the rice and Oats, by lifting them up and sprinkling them onto the table. While some enjoyed exploring the textures using their senses.
