This week the children have been getting into the Christmas spirit and engaged with a sensory tray full of Christmas decorations.

They have explored the texture, shape, sound, and colour of each material and have used their sight, touch, sound, hearing and some even used their taste senses to learn about the materials we use to celebrate the Christmas holidays.

Sensory activities have many benefits for young children and babies. It fosters social interaction, promotes scientific thinking which involves inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching, and investigating while also helping to build nerve connections in the brain.

Objective: Children to practice their fine and gross motor skills to explore and respond to their environment.
