One of our lovely families brought in some seeds and a potato for our friends to plant and grow.

We all got a turn to find the seeds in the dry seed pods and then they got to put the seed into the soil and water them. We are now waiting to see the leaves pop out through the soil and start growing.

The family also brought in dry seed pods (acacia seeds) where the children got to open them up and find the little seeds so we could see what they looked like. They also brought in two other types of seeds which were Mognolia and Pumpkin.

  • Brown: Acacia
  • Red: Mognolia
  • Whitish: Pumpkin

We also had a look at the potato they had started growing at home but decided to bring it in and see if we would like to keep growing it at the centre. We showed the children how seeds first get their roots, then their leaves as this potato had already started getting some leaves.

The children were all excited and couldn’t wait until the seeds started to grow!
