This morning, the children spent time role-playing real-life scenarios through the creation of their shopping lists.

Together, we explored the Woolworths catalogue and went through each section before making our list. The children were then given a piece of paper to create their own shopping list,  with some common guidelines for what they needed to look for. The children then worked together to create their lists and cut out items from the catalogue to stick on their shopping lists.

The children had lots of conversation about the different foods that they wanted on their list. We then had a group discussion about why each child picked their items.

Analysis of learning:  child writes for a variety of purposes using increasingly sophisticated marks.
