Over the past fortnight we have been learning all about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through a variety of hands-on creative and fun activities.

Each day we have been doing the Acknowledgement to the country so we can show respect to the traditional custodians of the land past and present.

The children have learnt about totems and dream time and using natural or recycled materials in our art and craft activities.

The children have been working on their cognitive and fine motor skills to use the glue and stick on the material to the paper.

We talked to the children about Aussie animals (totems) and their significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
