Recently we had a planned power outage at our centre. This was due to power poles needing to be replaced within the area. We were so intrigued as to how they were going to replace the poles, but they managed. Using a large crane and cherry picker, the poles were carefully guided into place and then the new wires were connected, this did take some time but we found it fascinating. You should have seen how high in the air the picker could reach. It gave us the opportunity to learn more about power and the different ways we can conduct power. We looked at wind farms, hydro wheels, coal and solar just to mention a few. We then talked about how we can be resourceful and reduce our wastage both at the centre and in our homes. Each day we are learning more and more about our land and how we can be more sustainable.
