To celebrate ANZAC Day, we spoke to the children about what they thought the day included.

Some of the school children mentioned soldiers, poppies, and fallen heroes. The children each contributed to making a wreath for the memorial. We made the wreath from rosemary, lavender, and olive branches. The children also created a lovely message for the fallen soldiers.

Educator Chrissy and her family took our wreath to the dawn service on Thursday morning to place at the memorial service to show our respects to all the people who fought for our country.

Chrissy had the privilege of taking photos of the service, which we shared with the children at the centre. These photos included an image of the memorial state at dawn, a march led by a vintage ambulance, followed by air force cadets, local scout groups, and veterans with their loving families to support them, and a last photo of the memorial, including all the thoughtful wreaths created by us and other community members.
