This morning, we spoke about patterns, the different ways that we can do them, and what we thought a pattern was.

We spoke about how we can make different patterns and what makes a pattern. The children started off with playdough, using the rollers and cutters to make their own patterns.

Once we were done with the playdough, we went into the steam room and got out the paint. The children picked red, orange, and green. We got our paper and folded it in half, ensuring that we only painted on one side.

Once we were finished, we folded the paper in half and pressed the blank side against the paint. When lifting the paper off the paint, the children smiled, seeing the same pattern on the other side, and we all created our own patterned butterflies.
