This week we explored different foods such as lemon, zucchini, sweet potato, and onion, where the children observed the different reactions and colours it would make when we added in water and then baking soda.

When we added water to the onion, the colour changed to a light purple, and when we added baking soda, it changed to a green and light blue foam that bubbled. The children then discussed what it might look like if they added vinegar and milk to the onion.

After the discussion, they added the ingredients, and when doing this, it started to explode, and the colour transformed into a pastel purple colour.
