This week in the nest we explored sounds using many different resources that the children could find.
We collected plastic blocks, wooden sticks, drums, formula tins and maracas. The educators begun by banging two of the same objects together and the children listened to the sounds that each one made. As the children were passed the items, they copied the actions of the educators and were amazed at the different sounds they could make.
We attempted to copy a pattern of the sounds, but the babies thought it was much more fun to bang and make loud noises. One of the children then found the speaker and intently held it up to their ears to hear the soft music.
The children then explored the speaker and realised that they could control the volume and together they adjusted the volume of the songs.
