This morning we have came together in our STEAM studio to participate in a programmed experience of creating goop.

We started by collecting our bowls, cornflour, water and pop sticks and bringing them to our table.

Discussions between peers started as our group was curious about what we would be creating with these items.

Taking turns our peers poured cornflour into the bowl along with water and used a pop stick to mix the two ingredients together. As we mixed everything together, our group then noticed that it was becoming harder to mix and that our concoction was changing consistency.

With force such as mixing, our mixture went from a liquid to a solid. Our group tested this by smacking and hitting it to see how it would react to this force.
Our next test was adding food colouring into the mix.

Using their pop sticks, our groups in teams then strategised how they would manage to mix in the food colouring if it changed consistency with their movement to which they then realised that when they mix it slowly it acts once again as a liquid substance, allowing them to stir the colour around.
