This week we have been focusing on our gross motor developmental skills, and more importantly supporting children to cross their body midline.
This skill was demonstrated through bowling as our children attempted many different ways of throwing the balling balls to knock down the pins. Other children demonstrated it through kicking the soccer ball into the goal.
Through these simple experiences children were competent in crossing their midline without even knowing they were doing it. The children also begun to show right and left preferences to achieve the outcome of knocking down all the bins or getting as many goals as possible.
