This afternoon we have come together to participate in a spontaneous experience of learning how to use a screwdriver.

As our peers were playing with our printer that is placed on our tinker table our group was noticing how some of the parts would come off, this prompted the educator to work with the children on taking out the screws that attach the back to the printer.

As we sat down together one by one our peers took turns with the educators to remove the screw.

The first thing we needed to do was line our screwdriver up to the screw head, this taught our children persistence and patience as they attempted to line the grooves up together.

Our next task was to twist the screwdriver until the screw was loose, to which then our peers would pull it out and show it off that they successfully did it!

Once the screw was out, the educator placed the screw back on the end and assisted the children in lining the screwdriver back up to the hole and giving them the opportunity to figure out which way they should turn.
