This morning we gathered in our outdoor play space to participate in a programmed experience of messy/sensory play!

Using cornflour, water, apples, oranges and leaves we were able to create this cooling sensory experience that promotes fine motor skills, sensory exploration along with gross motor as the children mixed the cornflour through the water using their larger muscles to stir.

Cutting up our apples and oranges we placed them to the side as we collected leaves to also place within the experience. Adding our water into the tray along with cornflour and pink food colouring we then mixed it all together as it creates a cloudy pink consistency. We then added in our apples and oranges along with leaves and got ready to play.

The children used this experience to squeeze the juices out of the oranges along with snapping the apples into smaller pieces.
