Children gathered in our STEAM studio to participate in a spontaneous experience of provocation drawing.

Using recycled resources from our studio, such as boxes, we laid them along the floor in a square, ensuring there were enough spaces for all our peers to sit.

The children assisted with placing items in the middle of the square, as a provocation to which it was decided we could create a dinosaur nature scape.

Our crayon box was handed around to everyone, where they selected the colours they believed they would need and got to work with their artistry.

Our group used their social development skills as they communicated with their peers alongside them on their drawings, asking for assistance for certain parts when needed, and their fine motor and pencil grip abilities as they got comfortable holding the crayon and understanding their dominant hand, along with their imagination, as they re-created our provocations whilst also adding their own creativity into their art.
