Today the older children assisted Educator Tiana to give our veggie patch and much needed tidy up and to plant some new seeds.
Firstly, we placed water over the garden beds and mixed the soil around as the sand was very dry.
We then split into groups around the two garden beds so that there was space for all children to participate. Our friends prepared the holes for their seeds by taking their pointer finger and placing it within the soil until it reached their knuckles.
We then very carefully placed the seeds and covered the tops to make sure they were safe and secure before watering the tops of our garden beds to make sure our seeds were nice and hydrated.
Our friends seemed to love showing off their dirty hands as it meant they helped participate in creating a new area that they can regularly check on and see the progression of their hard work.
