Extending from this week’s learning journey about frogs and wetlands, we invited the children to creating their own frogs using pottery clay and water as the medium.

This material required squeezing, pinching and shaping with their hands and fingers, which improves creativity, fine motor skills and problem solving. We focused more on the children’s learning process about using their senses and imagination, as they were encouraged to share about what they are doing or where they’re currently at.

Allowing the children to discover the relation of adding water to the clay to make it softer leads to stimulating their curiosity and critical thinking skills, as they resourced their educator’s knowledge whenever they asked a question.
