This fortnight one of our objectives was ‘child expresses themselves in increasingly long, detailed and sophisticated ways.’

We explored this through bringing in recyclables such as cardboard, spools and old cds. The children then experimented with building their ideas using the loose parts. Height, balance, measurement, and distance were mostly the factors that the children noticed as they built their tower high, practicing basic concepts of mathematics.

Cooperation and teamwork were also observed as the children discussed about their creative plans and sharing their ideas with each other.
