Educators spent the week introducing the children to the world of croquet. The children watched carefully as the educators set up the challenge and then demonstrated on how to tap the balls through the course.
The educators supported the children by assisting them as they begun, and after a few tries the children were then able to complete the challenge on their own.
Some of our children picked it up quite easily and were then able to support their peers. This experience supported all children in their gross motor development, hand eye coordination as well as their cognitive functions.
Through trial and error approaches the children gained confidence quickly and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. They celebrated the achievements of their peers throughout the experience.
