This week has been the beginning of a wonderful project and learning for everyone here at Sonas Atwell.

We started by talking to the children about making sure they keep up with their water intake during the hot week. This then led to children asking how we can help our plants and local wildlife stay cool.

The educators used these questions to begin learning with our children about how we as a community can support in becoming water wise not only here but also at home. We watched a short Thomas the Tank Engine learning video about clean water as part of the Sustainability Action Heroes. We then had some wonderful conversations with the children about clean and dirty water.

The children then wanted to start collecting their left-over water from lunch to help give our tree some water as the ground was dry. The children have also been filling up little bowls of water to place around the garden for the animals.

We support our children in their learning and development about water conservation and we would love for this to continue.
