This week the children at Sonas Bayswater have been engaging in science and technology by exploring the biology/make-up of animals on the light board. Each child had a turn at naming the animal, the sound the animal makes, and counting as many bones in each X-ray as they could. One of our Children even said that the X-ray shows the inside and the photo is the outside of the animal.

Objective: The children are learning about the structure of the skeletons inside living creatures, and what their similarities and differences are.

Learning about structure helps us understand how bones function together to protect soft tissues and why different creatures move in different ways (walking on two legs or four legs, hopping, etc.).
