This morning, as the weather was quite warm, we decided to remain indoors.

We gathered together on the mat to listen to some of our favourite audio books, such as “The Rainbow Fish” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” We also sang some of our favourite nursery rhymes, such as “Five Little Ducks, Twinkle Tinkle Little Star, The Wheels on the Bus, Miss Polly Had a Dolly,” and many more.

The children copied me as we sang and acted out the movements to go along with each song.

This seemed to be a relaxing and collaborative experience as the children joined me to sit down on the mat, slowed down their bodies, listened to the music, and acted out the actions.

This morning’s objective is that the children learn to use adults as a resource to meet their needs as well as learn to self-regulate.
