This week we have been investigating water and ice and the changes that happen to both.  We have played with ice in water and explored ice and water separately.

Some of our children suggested we add leaves to the water to see if they would freeze and Taylor asked the children if they’d like to build boats out of natural materials and ice with an eager response.

We worked together to collect our natural materials, blue tack the pop sticks into the muffin tray, and resource the water to pour in.  Some of our friends even helped place our boats in the freezer.

After lots of patience waiting, it was time to set our boats down our river.  But uh-oh, if you placed them in the river then pumped the water our boats melted before they had a chance.

We had to work as a team to keep the river full so each friend could have a turn at placing their boat into the river.
