Children gathered in our STEAM studio to participate in a programmed experience of learning AUSLAN key words and signs.

Pulling up a chart on our device, our group searched through the photos provided and made a guess at what they believed these AUSLAN signs would identify as. Once our group had all made a guess, we checked to see if we were right and to learn the hand movements of what it meant.

As we were learning our key words, we began discussions in our group as to when we would use these movements, such as meal services asking for more or letting the educators know when we had finished eating, etc.

Our group then slowly began to integrate some of these signs into their daily routines as well as show off some of their newly learned skills.
