The children gathered in our STEAM studio to participate in an experience of creating aboriginal symbols using playdough.

The children were given a container with many different symbols for them to choose from. With this, they then attempted to recreate said symbol using playdough.

Through the experience, the educators and children assisted each other in understanding what the symbols meant.

With this experience, natural items were also offered for the children to use within the playdough, where a chart of Australian animals was also provided for the children to attempt creating which animal they chose.

As the children were creating their animals, they began to ask if we could listen to the noises these animals made, and our experience transitioned once again to a guessing game using the Australian animal chart as a guide.
