This morning the children participated in our colour run activity that was initiated by Educator Anushka to celebrate Holi, the festival of colours.
This experience enabled the children to explore culture and identity throughout with Anushka also taking the time to explain that Holi was a Hindu festival celebrated in India and Nepal.
Some of the children had experienced this festival within their own cultural contexts and loved sharing it with their friends.
The colour run was also a fantastic way to enhance the children’s tactile sensory development.
We were able to discover the changing consistency as we added water to the coloured powder and seemingly had lots of fun spreading the slime all over our educators.
