Sonas Wattle Grove – Vacation Care Excursion to Volcano Park

Today our vacation care children took the bus to Volcano Park in Belmont.

Everyone was so excited to get on the bus and arrive at the park. Once we arrived, we all put on more sunscreen and had a discussion about where they would like to start their day.

They had chosen to go explore the big playground. Some of the children struggled to climb up the playground to the very high slide, but after some discussions and help from educators Amelie and Jess, they found the easiest way to climb up.

The children loved walking across the wobbly bridge that led to the very high slide. Some of the children were a little scared to go down the slide, but after some words of encouragement from their fellow peers, they gave it a go and loved it! After the playground, they wanted to go explore the big volcano. The children ran up the volcano as fast as they could to reach the top.

After a few games of lava on the floor, the children wanted to go explore the rest of the park. They had then noticed the big flying foxes, and with a little bit of help from educator Jess, they spent forever running back up to wait for their next turn.
