This afternoon after rest time we got out some coloured sand along with some photos of sand art.
I made a mandala in the sand to show the children what we would be making. They then began to use the clay sticks to help them move and make pictures in the sand.
The children were very fascinated by this new type of art they were unaware of. They were very engaged and enjoyed being able to learn something new while making something all at the same time.
