Objective: Child imitates and engages in play with other children.

Today in the STEM ROOM we made a Train World.

We sat down on the floor around the tray and waited for Charina. The children were offered train tracks, wooden trees, cars and trains. The children showed great teamwork in putting the tracks together for the trains and cars. While they play, Charina asked the children if they have seen a train and if they already rode a train? One child said she has seen a train and they were very fast! Another child said trains are long and fast. And another child said she has seen a train too!

When the children were finished making the tracks, we sing the song “Wheels on the Train!”

Through this experience the children were able to exercise their problem solving skills by making tracks for the trains and cars to pass. They were also able to show and exercise their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills by putting the wooden tracks together.
