This week, the children at Sonas Wanneroo focused on sensory things such as playdough, rice trays, and goop.
In this experience, the children were able to help make the goop from scratch. They got all the ingredients that were needed, they then measured all the ingredients and placed them in a tub.
As the children were placing them into the tub, they were then mixing it all together, making sure all the ingredients were combined. When they were mixing it, they started to notice that when they put their hands into the goop, the goop would set, and when they took their hands out, the goop would become liquid.
They discussed this with one of our educators, as they were all curious. Following this conversation, they discussed what would happen if they added sand to the mixture.
All the children were very interested in and excited about this activity.
